| Going to see Ted Leo and the Farmer's Cysts tomorrow night. | Swish Jun 13, 2003 8:14 AM | | Ok, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, but whoever posted that funny take on the name originally (Rae? Stone? Slosh?) really cracked me up. Anyway, my daughter's fiance's band, (he just proposed last night and she said "Yes!") is the opening act, so it should be a fun night. I never bought Ted's new release, Hearts of Oak, but I sure liked The Tyranny of Distance. Should be a fun night for me and the wife. |
| So who's the opening act? | RPM Jun 13, 2003 8:59 AM | | Wow, they must be reasonably good to be opening for "The Cysts". Congrats to your family, have fun! Btw, where's the show?

| Their name is "Movies With Heroes" and they're not too... | Swish Jun 13, 2003 9:10 AM | | shabby. Their biggest influences would be Sunny Day Real Estate and maybe Sebadoh. They're actually the first opening act, and they are one of several local bands that gets to play at this club, whether it's fronting a "semi-major" act like Ted Leo, or just a bunch of local bands doing their thing. They've recorded a couple cds but on a very small Indy label. Daughter's fiance actually does the recording for them and other local bands, and he's making some good $ doing it. I plan to use one of their songs on a future comps for grins and giggles. The show will be at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, PA, where the band hails from and where our daughter lives. |
| Ya think they'll ever let the "old man" jam with them? :-) | RPM Jun 13, 2003 9:26 AM | | I'll pass this group's name along to my buddy at work. He's a '20 something' guy who hits a lot of local shows.
