| Grandaddy 'live' | Les Jun 16, 2003 1:32 AM | | Last friday night Grandaddy appeared on the Jools Holland 'Later' show on the BBC and did a couple of numbers from 'Sumday' Quite impressive so popped out and bought the album on Saturday am and have spun it a few times over the weekend. Nice & laid back, sort of reminds me of Neil Young vocally at times with a couple of slower Blink 183 riffs thrown in. Looking at AMG they recommend The Sophtware Slump as their best - is that the general view from those who have exposure to their previous work ?
Cheers

| Absolutely! | Slosh Jun 16, 2003 2:01 PM | | I don't have all of their first few EPs but as good as Sumday is (and I think it's excellent), Sophtware is even better IMO. It gets kinda proggy but in an interesting way.
A couple of weeks back Demetrio mentioned he was looking to get rid of his copy. While it is proggy, I'm assuming it was also a bit too indie for his tastes. |
| Hey Slosh, they're playing in Philly at the TLA very soon. | Swish Jun 16, 2003 3:40 PM | | I forget the date but I'm sure a quick search would get you the info. My wife probably won't go, but I might if I can find someone to travel there with me. Should be a good show. |
