| Just added it . . . | Troy Nov 7, 2003 11:31 AM | | . . . to the netflix queue. They seem to have only about 6 concert DVDs there, but that's one of them.
Wish it was an older show. Somehow I don't see "Illegal Alien" and the godawful "That's All" as belonging int he old medley. |
| No Gabriel | MasterCylinder Nov 7, 2003 2:07 PM | | Yep............as far as OLD MEDLEY goes, it's odd hearing THE LAMB without Gabriel. But they do a good job anyway.
I like to watch Banks at the keyboards and Chester behind the kit........this concert has some very good footage of Collins playing quality drums, as well. |
| Ya, it's pretty good... | Dave_G Nov 7, 2003 11:55 AM | | I have this gig on laserdisc but have not jumped to the dvd version just yet...
It's a good gig but these songs, are, well, you know, kind of fluffy.
And they really don't dig playing the old music anymore. You can tell in their actions and comments.
But still it's way worth renting and if the dee vee dee was less than 10 bucks I'd buy it.

| Along with "I Can't Dance" they should have included... | Swish Nov 7, 2003 1:14 PM | | "I Can't Write Decent Songs" and "I Can't Sing". :-)
But seriously, I hate that pathetic song. I was a fan of them back in the Peter Gabriel days-Selling England by the Pound still sits well with me, along with Lamb Lies Down--but lost interest some years ago. Still, I'll probably have to check this out for myself, but I'll be sure to skip over the pap from their recent years. |
| The Wife | MasterCylinder Nov 7, 2003 2:11 PM | | Me wife is a big Phil Collins (as in his solo shyte) fan.
She brought this DVD home. I'll admit, I'm glad she did.
Like you, I believe there are few tunes that he is a bit over the top but, all in all, this is some good concert footage......hence, my recommendation. |
| Ewww! Phil Collins??? | Swish Nov 8, 2003 9:10 AM | | Just messin' with you. I couldn't resist the opportunity. Anyway, one of my favorite South Park episodes did a funny as hell spoof aimed at Phil. The kids were all diagnosed with ADD and given ritalin by a doctor and pharmacist who were in cahoots to make a fortune on Ritalin stock. Anyway, the kids became lethargic and ended going to see a Phil Collin show. Chef realized what was happening and pleaded with the pharmacist and doctor to end it because the kids went to see Phil Collins! They broke down, crying out "What have we done?!" They gave Chef the antidote which was, are you ready for this?...Ritilout. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. I guess you had to be there. :-) |
