That does it! I'm going on the wagon.Swish

So we hit a party at a friend's house last night, and there was plenty of food, beer and wine (we brought a huge bottle of Yellow Tail Cabernet. Nice, inexpensive Aussie product). Anyway, his finished basement is set up for jamming, with a full drum set and PA system. About 8 or 9 of the guests are musicians of varying skill levels, although a few are truly fine players.

We were there for just a short time when some of the guys started playing, and it sounded pretty good from our vantage point in the kitchen upstairs. We continued to imbibe and grabbed some grub before decending the stairs to get a better look. They were playing some older rock tunes that everyone knew (AC/CD, and Godknowswhatelse) and the 3, yes 3, guitarists took turns overplaying solos to levels of excess that would make Eddie Van Halen look mild by comparison. One of my buds is a good singer and he kept coaxing me to get up and play, but I kept brushing him off, mainly because I didn't bring my own guitar and didn't want to ask someone for theirs. The one dude comes over and hands me his bitchin' Les Paul ('87 vintage I think) which he had connected to a Marshall amp with some pedals that made it thrash nicely. I was quite lit by that point and proceeded to lead the band into "Ziggy Stardust". I was told that my singing was horrid, but got a few compliments on my solo, most of which I can't even remember. I was just flying all over the fretboard like a man possessed...ok, like a man who had too much to drink, and the fuzzed up sound from the Marshall covered up all my mistakes.

To make a long story short, I was done for the night and woke up with a bit of a hangover. I know that I truly killed that fine Bowie song, and I'll be reminded of it over and over. Just remember, "friends don't let friends play guitar drunk".
good thing no cops were presentRPM

You could have gotten a jwi (jamming while intoxicated). My guess is that most of the others present were in a simialr state as you. They probably woke this morning to foggy memories of a reincarnated middle aged white Jimi Hendrix. ;-)
It could have been worse...Dusty Chalk
