Apparently some folks are having trouble logging in to the new site, but it worked fine for me on my first try and i'm computer inept. All i had to do was type in my username and password and voila, i was in. Only a few posts so far in any of the discussion areas though.
I don't know cause I can't loginDavey

It's kind of a lonely group at the old forums too, no?

:-)
Jeez, as technologically challenged as I am,tentoze

I got in with no worries............according to what I read over there, they copied over your LAST username; and with as many monikers as you've had floating around, that may be some of your problem.

:]
Thanks for your thoughtful responseDavey

:-)

I posted over in General asking Chris if he could fix me up with my Davey moniker so I can login on the new site. Glad to hear you're in like flint.

NP: Over The Rhine - Show Me from the Ohio double CD, wow this one is so good
I'm sure it'll get straightened out.....tentoze

...and I hope everyone will get used to the format with minimal aggravation.

NP- rain on the roof in Las Vegas ( a VERY rare tune).

Yeah, kind of rainy down here yesterday too. Kinda nice, except I got pretty wet after it started coming down hard when I was out walking last night. Blue skies and puffy white clouds today. Maybe that means they will let me register now! Or at least respond to my post with something! Hell, if I can't register as Davey then at least delete my email address from the records so I can register as someone else since it is linked to the Davey username now :-(

NP: Some click filled quirky electronica stuff from chrisnz called Mas Confusion by various artists, none I've heard of before. Kinda fun and playul, but generally not a type of music that excites me too much....but on the other hand, there is some interesting music here....hmmmm :-)
Oh for crying out loudJim Clark

What a mess this thing is. Like many others I couldn't log on to the new board. Never had a bunch of names, I know my password and it is working ( I know since I logged off and back on to this board). Finally, don't know how, got logged on to the new board but I still can't post since my account is not activated. Been waiting on an email to explain the activation process for a while now. Apparently it isn't automatic. This is wasting a whole lot of my time and I'm growing weary of the battle already. I'm hoping for a change in luck real soon.

I wonder if it doesn't like spaces in the login nameJar
Nov 12, 2003 1:03 PM
my name here is <space>Jar because I couldn't use just Jar.. anyway, I signed up for a new account anyway.. over there I'll be -Jar- .. oh well I've used systems like this before.. not as nice, but usable.. i'll just pretend it's head-fi.com but with cooler people.

It just didn't work out the way it was supposed to-by a long shot. I don't envy Chris at all during the transition period. I'm glad it worked out since I don't want to change my moniker although I could have lived with the jc thing if I had to.

I still can't log on to the new board. I am registered and it recognizes me, but it won't give me access to your email address.

A little help would be appreciated.

You should probably post this over on the General boardDavey
Nov 13, 2003 8:58 AM
Hey Sweetie, there's a thread over there already about login problems and I don't imagine he will be looking over here for new work :-)

He hasn't responded to mine but most of the others he has taken care of in short order.
Think they're trying to tell us something? :-)Snowbunny

Thanks for the tip, Honeybare. Maybe I'll just show up at the new board in disguise... ;-)
Oooh, in disguise!Davey

That might be kinda fun, eh? I could go as a long legged sexy blonde who likes to flirt and you could be a shy indie rocker. Oh wait, they'd probably recognize me, huh? :-)
I'm starting to feel like the last person picked for a team. :-(Snowbunny

Yeah, your style is pretty evident, no matter what the moniker.

NP: The Velvet Underground - S/T. Love it! Was this released before Nick Drake was recording? Can sure hear similar sounds. Now I see what you meant when you said that they were influential in many of our favourite modern bands.
Now you're <i>beginning to see the light</i>Davey

Had to work in a reference to the Velvet Underground album, now didn't I? I don't know when Nick Drake started recording, but VU was released in 1969, just a little before his first album in 1970. They probably sold about 100 copies each back then :-)

Of course, the S/T is the third Velvet Underground release. The first two albums are much noiser :-)

I'm listening right now to a very cool CD chrisnz sent me called Programmed to Love by Bent. Pretty odd cover :-)

Hey Chris, if you read this the Cd has a bunch of tracks at the end that don't come up with names when I play it on my computer. Are these bonus tracks? They don't seem to be listed on the US release which also has a different cover. Did you get this one as a UK import? Or was it made down under? I've really been enjoying it, lots of fun music!
