| What is the most powerful tube amp made for the home. | caldera Jul 20, 2002 8:22 PM | | I always read about tiny little amps with 8 watts which may be good for solo nose flute recordings, but what if you have a large set of inefficient speakers like 801 Nautilus's or big electrostatics AND you have a large room. AND you like listeing to the 1812 overture (the one with cannon shots?) at realistic levels. What do tube people do about this? Thanks.

These amps were driving a pair of 81dB speakers at the latest Montreal show with excellent results.
To get this amount of power from another amp, you would need to spend $13k from a Cary system.
Good luck. |
