Hey, do any of those so-called "tube dampeners" work worth a damn? I have very revealing speakers and I thought it could help. Am I numb?

I've put the plastic rings from Sonic Frontiers on all of my small tubes, but do they make a difference? They're hard to A/B, and I haven't done it, but the idea makes sense. I've run the idea around in my mind of banding lead collars to the bases of output tubes to dampen vibration.
