Does anyone have an opinion, review, or experience with this unit?
What is the relationship with it and the 3020.
How does it compare with other models like the 7240PE or the 7020?
thanks

Bill, I can tell you that the 7220 Power Envelope Receiver is a fine piece of equipment. The tuning section of the 7240PE is much better, because it adds FM Noise Reduction. It really helps pull in a distant station. The amp section on the 7240PE is also a bit more powerful. It's rated at 40 watts per channel, but has 6db of dynamic headroom. Which means the 7240PE can put out 160 watts into 8 ohms, for very short bursts. The 7220PE puts out 20 watts per channel, with 3db of headroom, and can put out, I believe, 50 watts for short bursts. The 3020 is an integrated amp, but there are several versions out there bearing the 3020 designation. There is the 3020, 3020B, and the 3020s20. They all have slightly different power ratings. The 7220PE, is basically a combination of the 3020 int. amp, and a tuner section. I hope that this helps. Kirk.
