I thought you might be interested in the specs if so.

John...it certainly is classic Carver and it looks very cool. After getting all the info on the speakers I am quite sure the Carver is not the problem...keep it . Did you play with te felt on the front baffles? That is a very effective and very cheap tweak. Vandersteen uses a big piece of felt over the entire front panel in the 2CE's and so do my Spicas. cant cost you more than 10 bucks for what I think will sound like a $500 upgrade.

I think the EQ will be fine.. the Carver has a loop just for this so you should get a good impedance match.
No problem with the 14 gauge to the den...again make sure they are the same length (exactly). What is the impedance of the DCM's? Is there any info on impedance for 2 pairs of speakers on the back of the Carver. If the DCM's are 4 0hm speaks than when you are using both pairs together you are showing your amp an (AVERAGE) impedance of 2.67 ohms. depending on the amp this might be a problem at any high volume settings. If the amp is good down to 2 ohms you are ok but remeber impedance is not a constant but varies with frequency so at some requencis you could be dropping even below 2 ohms which I don't suggest unless your amp is bullet proof. Otherwise just listen in one room at a time which I imagine is what you will do anyway.

ps...that's all a bunch of worthless krap if your amp has a true 4 channel output.

John...
I don't want you to cover any part of the speakers just the baffles or the wood panel they are mounted on and only around the tweeter and the mid. This is to remove any possibility of sound reflecting off of the baffles. use at least 1/2" thick felt and cut it with a sharp razor and just leave about 1/4" space around the drivers.
There is a photo of some Spica Angelus's you can look at for a reference.

do you have a friend who can solder? it's so simple maybe you can ask at the Radio Shack if someone can help you.

Hey Johnny! Glad I could help out. When it doubt... Always check out the completed auctions on the bay. The info's not ALWAYS correct, but you can usually figure it out if you cross reference from one to another.

By the way... Looks like a keeper to me. I think the EQ will also help tweak in those party speakers you've got. Keep us posted. Now I must go play with MY toys!
