JansZen Z-30 speakersCarl

I'm not even sure if this is a vintage question, but the speakers I'm looking at seem kind of old.
Anyway, I know someone selling a pair of Janszen Z30 speakers and I love the look and the sound, but he's asking $250 for them. I don't want to get totally ripped off so I'm wondering if this is a good deal. He says they're original and have been used seldomly but on a fairly regular basis. I trust that the insides are in good shape and the outside looks absolutely perfect.

Does anyone have any info on these? Sound like a good deal? Thanks in advance for the help.

are those the ones with the electrostatic tweeters? If they are they were very highly respected and had a wonderful sound...

These were THE ultimate mod for several years. These were and still are excellent add on tweeter arrays provided they are within spec. Widely used with AR, Bozak, KLH, Advents, and many other of the better speakers from the vintage days. The drivers were the same used in the KLH 9 full range electrostatic speaker which was a Class A Stereophile speaker when Stereophole mag was just started (the Bozak Concert Grand was the other Class A speaker). I still have a set of JansZen hybrid speakers in need of restoration and used the tweeter array with a variety of speakers. They really added to my Bozak Symphonys. Of course I am biased towards Art's design, having used KLH 9s for several decades.
