actually I don't think they are 701's but it could be.
I think you mean the old DM 70's which were very cool. They were white cabinets with black grills and a black stand. The top section had the electrostatic midrange/tweeter and the bottom had the woofer. It had a very modern look...kinda belonged in that big white room in Clockwork Orange.

Sorry, you're right, except they're the standard version in wood/walnut? finish.

The 70 was an interesting hybrid design that like most of its day really did not do well at the boundry between the tweeter and mid/woofer. Technology was just not up to it then. Also, at the time very pricey and though good sounding not as good as others in the same price range, hence not a big seller. Parts today will be very hard to obtain, unlike say the JansZen systems.

If in working condition could be an interesting project for the DIY to rework using current drivers. Or, for the vintage lover. The speaker is for the listener and not the person looking to get the "most" out of the system. Works better with tube equip or stable ss such as McIntosh w/ autoformers.

The buyer most likely would be an electrostatic lover or vintage collector - the perfect target would be the owner of a Lee Sound Chair.

OBTW, I do like them personally being an electrstatic lover. But, my wife would shoot me if I suggested another set of speakers should follow me home. If this topic had come up a year ago before I got my Bozaks, I'd be negotiating to get them.
