Sep 16, 2002 3:26 PM | | I am looking for a used 2 channel amp that will mesh well or improve my existing system. My current amp (a cheap integrated Onkyo TX-26) is underpowered and overheats quickly.
I listen to a lot of vinyl and CDs. The music I listen to is mainly rock (post-punk, power pop, lo-fi, alt-country, 80s college radio, and ethereal pop) and be-bop jazz. I rarely listen to classical or chamber music.
My current is as follows:
Bang & Olufsen Beogram RX2 turntable with an MMC-3 cartridge
Polk Audio Monitor Series 7 speakers
Onkyo Integra P-304 preamp
Technics RS B85 stereo cassette deck
JVC XL-V131 CD player (which I would like to upgrade next)
What would you recommend I look for used? I would like to spend no more than $350. I don't need anything new because I don't need 5 or 7 channel surround sound and all that new stuff.
