Vintage Pioneer QX-9900, help diagnose these problems!vince321

I recently purchased a Pioneer QX-9900 reciever from the early 70's. From what little information I've been able to find, it looks like this was Pioneer's TOTL unit back then.

Anyway, when powering up this reciever, it will play music for approx. ten seconds before cutting out. Intermitent, sometimes it won't play music at all) Everything will remain on and lit up, but no sound. I'm pretty new to vintage equipment, but what could be the problem? Is there anything that I can check? and does this sound serious? Please give me any information with the hopes that I can get this bad boy runnin.

Thanks in advance.
