Yamaha CR-2020 recieversam46

I have a Yamaha CR-2020 reciever apart on my bench that I have messed with off and on for the last few months. I found it for a few bucks at a garage sale and it powered up put both channels were dead. I have narrowed the problem down to two voltage regulators, one diode, and a few resistors in the power supply that would probably get it working. The amp sections seem to be fine, just not getting any DC to them. I am not familair with this reciever and need to either finish it or get it off the bench for another project. It appears to be a VERY well built reciever. Has anyone ever had one of these and know if it sounds good enough to be worth messing with? Thanks.

You are kidding, right? The Yamaha CR-2020 is one of the best stereo receivers of all time and much sought after on eBay as a result. As you say, well built...and quite handsome, too.

Well, this one isn't too handsome, it is a little beat up. I stacked it in the closet with all the rest of the unfinished projects and will get back to it someday. I did cobble up some circuits and got it to play, it did sound really good, but there were some overheating issues so I shut it off. This is nothing that I would sell on eBay, it has problems, but I will hang onto it, and get back to it eventually. I like old Pioneer and Marantz stuff, and am not too familiar with Yamaha, and I need a schematic for this one. Thanks.
