| Oipnions ASAP on vintage amp choice!pls | jsujo1 Aug 18, 2003 10:19 AM | | My options that I am considering:
VSP Labs Transmos 150 watts per channel,,1983
Perraux 2500 B....270 watts per ch...vintage 1983
these two were reviewed by stereo Review then
Sansui BA-2000
Van Alstine 250 Omega III,,,,based on a Hafler 220 (125 watts per side)
Dynaco Stereo 400...20o watts per side.
PS Audio PS 200C...also reviewed by Stereo something...
The pre amp will be a McIntosh C26,,,Rega Planet CDP, and speakers..maybe Signet, Meadowlark, Platinum Audio Duos...not sure yet. |

Stay away from the Dyna 400 (awful sound). The Perraux is a real honey of an amp, but is probably a lot more $ than the others. Van Alstine is US based and still in business. Hafler based stuff is essentially bulletproof. |
