Marantz Amp. Class Aosbuc
Nov 7, 2003 12:35 PM
I have 2 older Marantz Amps that are 120wpc Class A/B and 30 wpc class A. I will admit I do not completely understand the difference, but my question is will it hurt the AMPs to run them continuously in class A? I usually play music for between 1 and 3 hours at a time, and noticed they do get a bit warmer when in class A mode. thanks for any help
I think you're fortunate to have such amps...trollgirl

but tell us, do they sound better in class A mode? Nothing else matters, and no, I don't think it will hurt them. With winter coming on, they can do their part to heat the house. That's why I run solid-state in the summer and tubes in the winter. It's just about time to swap the Yamaha out for the Anthem...
